Vehicle Damage Liability

Ocean Express is not liable for any damage to your vehicle arising from the following:

  1. Loose or detachable items such as trim pieces, moldings, emblems, badges, wheel covers/hubcaps, center caps, side mirrors, bumpers, antennas, cameras, sensors, mud flaps, windshield wipers, or bug shields that detach upon contact with our equipment.
  2. Aftermarket or accessory racks, including luggage carriers, bike mounts, cargo carriers, or similar attachments.
  3. Interior water intrusion caused by unsecured or improperly closed windows, doors, or an open sunroof/moonroof.
  4. Pre-existing vehicle conditions, prior damage, modifications, or any deviations from the manufacturer’s original design or specifications, including glass imperfections and knicks/stars or cracks which may expand upon temperature changes inherent in the environment.
  5. Vehicles with insufficient ground clearance (less than 6 inches), overall height exceeding 7 feet 6 inches, width greater than 84 inches (measured from tire to tire or tire to body), or tires wider than 13 inches.
  6. Antennas that are not fully retracted, removed, or lowered by the customer prior to entry, including shark antennas, power/retractable antennas that fail to retract completely or cannot be lowered.
  7. Loose items, debris, or unsecured cargo in pickup truck beds or open cargo areas must be removed prior to entry and is the responsibility of driver.  Damage and expenses incurred to other cars due to your vehicle’s violation is your responsibility.
  8. Any vehicle model year older than 5 years.
  9. Incidents occurring while the customer is driving the vehicle onto the conveyor, through the tunnel, or failing to follow posted instructions (e.g., improper operation, braking, or steering).
  10. Collisions or contact resulting from sudden braking or stopping inside the wash tunnel.

Claims Procedure

If you believe damage to your vehicle was directly caused by our equipment malfunction or negligence, you must:

  • Report the issue immediately before leaving the premises.
  • Obtain at least two independent repair estimates, one from a repair facility we designate.

We will only cover the reasonable cost of necessary repairs directly attributable to our fault. We are not responsible for any incidental or consequential expenses, including but not limited to rental cars, towing, loss of use, personal time, or other related costs.

Additional Important Notices

  • Windshields with existing chips, cracks, or stress pits may worsen or crack further upon exposure to water or temperature changes during the wash. This is due to pre-existing damage, not our services.
  • It is solely your responsibility to verify that your vehicle meets all clearance and safety requirements before entering the wash. Our staff does not inspect or measure vehicles for compatibility.
  • For your safety and the safety of others, remain alert to moving vehicles, wet/slippery surfaces, and follow all posted instructions.
  • No damage claims will be considered or honored after your vehicle has exited the premises.
  • These terms and conditions represent the full extent of our liability. No employee, agent, or representative is authorized to modify, waive, or expand these limitations verbally, in writing, or through any other means.

By using our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.

NOTICE: By using this facility, you agree to the full Ocean Express Terms and Conditions; we are not liable for pre-existing damage, loose/aftermarket parts, or driver error, and all claims must be reported on-site before exiting.
